L’Envol

L’Envol is a primary and secondary specialized education establishment for type 1 (pupiles with mild mental retardation), type 2 (pupiles with moderate to severe mental retardation) and type 8 (pupiles with learning disorder).

L’Envol is also the headquarters of the Pôle Territorial WBE Liège.

A Territorial Pole is a structure made up of a multidisciplinary team (speech therapists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, social workers, educators, etc.) whose mission is to support educational teams in inclusion in the ordinary education of pupils with special needs, including pupils with high potential.

The Territorial Pole WBE Liège works with 51 mainstream schools which educate more than 15,000 students. This structure has two types of missions: collective missions (addressed to teachers) and individual missions (addressed to students).

The missions of the multidisciplinary team with educational teams:

  • provides information on reasonable accommodation and promotes its implementation;
  • ensures the link between the different partners;
  • supports the cooperating schools in the development of reasonable accommodation protocols and more particularly when individual support by the Territorial Pole is necessary.

The missions of the multidisciplinary team with the students:

  • provides individual support to students as part of the implementation of reasonable accommodation;
  • also individually accompanies pupils with specific sensorimotor needs if this proves necessary with regard to a scale of needs;
  • collaborates in the evaluation of reasonable accommodation protocols and, if necessary, in referral to specialized education;
  • supports students with special needs in the context of the implementation of total permanent integration.
